Why Choose 12 N 12 SoberLiving

Why Sober Living?

Statistics show the people who leave a treatment facility to return home, have a relapse rate of 90% in the first year. That percentage is cut to 50% after just three months in sober living.  The longer one is able to remain in sober living, the better their chances of maintaining sobriety.

12 N 12 Sober Living’s goal is to provide comfortable, quality living in surroundings conducive to abstinence, recovery and personal growth.  Occupants in our sober living homes are able to attend school, work and outside meetings. Our goal is to create and maintain a sober atmosphere that supports confidence, self-worth and the motivation necessary for a healthy return to conventional living and mainstream society.  Our foundation of support from within the house will help our clients develop the tools needed to achieve long-term recovery.

We offer a sober living program that allows both freedom and structure to co-exist. 12-step meetings and other therapeutic activities are encouraged, as they teach newly sober individuals how to take care of themselves and monitor their recovery on a daily basis. Occupants in our sober living homes are able to attend outpatient treatment, school, work and outside meetings. Occupants have reasonable curfews and chores or other projects within the house to keep it running smoothly while instigating normal daily habits.  Our goal is to provide occupants with useful skills that facilitate their transition back to the real world.

Sober Living as Long-term Support

The majority of people who use sober living as a tool after residential treatment find that long-term sobriety is easier to maintain and that the social network and friends they meet in sober living end up being supportive, long term friends. Sober-living homes are generally not co-ed in order to help clients focus on their recovery without distraction. There may be a minimum stay, but often people choose to stay in sober living for longer than required because it is a fun, supportive, loving and a familial environment. 12 n 12 Sober Living encourages their occupants to use sober living as an additional form of support after drug or alcohol treatment. Drug and alcohol abuse are behaviors that develop over time. Even after individuals form new habits, a supportive network of friends and positive role models help them to maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
